I came across this photo over the weekend of 60098 Spion Kop on a running in turn at Doncaster, sometime in the late 50s before she received smoke deflectors. I’m sure she would have found this work rather easy! Note the articulated suburban coach in the middle. Running in turns like this is something I’m very much looking forward to modelling on my upcoming layout. When locomotives went under major work at Doncaster, they were often placed on lesser duties to make sure they worked properly. This could be anything from pick up freight, to engineering works to suburban passenger services! This leads to glorious photos like this A3 on a suburban service to Sheffield!
