#footbridges #postit This is the footbridge where I spent my misspent youth. It is near Trowell station on the Erewash Valley line. The majority of traffic on the Erewash Valley line was coal, it was so busy at times that trains of coal wagons would be lined up nose to tail on the Goods line, ( permissive block working I think it was called ). On a summer Saturday you could take dozens of numbers. It was a magic place as a youngster, we, my brother and I had a great collection of squashed pennies too.
