This is another of my purchasing cock-ups that I tried to put right. When I originally bought these PCA cement wagons in 2013-2014 (2nd hand) they were sold in grey and yellow versions - I was totally naïve and years after as I did my research I find Hornby did it again - selling wagons that would appeal to kids but not to modellers. So rather than chuck them in the bin I used the excellent site of Paul Bartlett to show me how these wagons actually looked. Apparently the length is not quite correct and I have read an article of somebody who altered the length as well. I just painted them in a metallic finish, added extra weights internally, weathered them with powders and airbrush and numbered them individually. As a rake they look okay but do not warrant close inspection, but it just goes to show what can be done to add a bit of realism!!!!
