I’ve been using cereal packet to get straight in my mind what this end of Chandwell is going to look like. I’ve decided to model the stub end of what was once a second, double-track viaduct taking a branch line to the goods facilities elsewhere in the town. I’ve mocked up a much-too-long Midland style signal box based on the one at Ilkley to help me decide where to site it and I’ve decided at the end of platforms 3 and 4. And it has dawned on me that the hotel, at 42cm long, took six months to make. The gap from the hotel to the bridge over High Street is 112cm. So I think it will be still more than a year until the buildings along the back scene here are complete. I’m going to mock them up very crudely to try to get the overall feel before committing to anything else.
