The Union Pacific DDA40X, or "Centennials", were the world's largest and strongest single unit diesels. 47 of these super-sized units were built exclusively for the Union Pacific from 1969 to 1971, and operated until 1984, with 13 still in existence including the first ever built and the last ever built. 12 of which are preserved with 1 still in operation with Union Pacific pulling excursion trains, and the 13th one is stored in a little town used for parts and fuel storage, but money is being raised to restore it.
