Animalnames#postit Im going to give this one a bit of a twist as I don’t think any of the brewery steam or diesel engines were named after animals apart from the usual cussing and name calling when things went wrong! ….….but when the engines were actually animals that’s where I have a few photos. I’ve mentioned shunting horses previously but Monty was the last official Bass shire horse stabled at the Shobnall maltings before the Bass brewery museum was brought into existence. Also a lot of the dray horses were requisioned by the army in 1914 for the war effort so 2 pictures of the brewery horses being inspected by the war office before being taken away.
