In addition to the replacement cylinders that I printed for the Hornby 08, I have also printed a version for the Bachmann 08, which incorporates a base plate. As with the Hornby version, includes the pipe between the two cylinders, but as there is a base plate, I have also included the small section which provides protection of the pipe from the screw coupling. Also, these photos also show the pickup additions that I fitted several years ago as the pickups on the Bachmann loco are not as efficient as required. These are simply copper clad strips superglued to the underside with phosphor bronze strip soldered to the copper clad. Then small feed wires (DCC size wire) soldered to the feeds off the Bachmann pickups. Both my Bachmann 08's are treated the same. I use Zimo sound decoders and anyone who has seen my layout Orchard Road can attest to the resultant extreme slow running achieved.
