Showing my age here (I turn 43 on 8th January!), with this programme, I remember first watching in 1988. I've included the youtube link here, as it may be of interest to people in here. In 1988, Scottish Television made and transmitted a one off documentary, "distant signals", looking at the introduction of RETB onto the west highland line, and the subsequent de-staffing of several stations. The programme shows lots of scenes, including signal boxes, trains, stations. It may be of use to modellers. The narrator of the programme is Iain Anderson, who is more well known as a presenter of a late night music show on BBC Radio Scotland, and who used to do occasional rugby union commentaries for BBC Scotland, including the 1994 womens world cup final in Edinburgh. Although originally only shown on STV, within central scotland, and Grampian TV in northern Scotland, the later endcap, with the 1990 STV logo at the end, reminds me that it was later shown throughout the UK on ITV, as part of the "About Britain" strand of documentaries. Anyway, enough waffling, as Justin would tell me! Here's the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wD_3fs6URE
