#operationshuntit - final track plan, with fiddle yard. In essence it’s a very simple plan. The left hand, scenic side is in Peco Bullhead and has three, short sidings. These tracks are mirrored in the fiddle yard to the right in Peco Streamline, meaning that up to five trains can live on the layout at a time (with hidden swap outs when wanted). There will be an optional, scenic apron at the front to extend the vista. The plan as shown fits on two BB017 baseboards, the left of which will be the competition entry. Should I ever wish to I could potentially add a third board in the middle to extend the run. I’ll put in magnets to allow de-coupling of S&W couplings once I get around to converting some stock (which is my long term plan for my main, home layout anyway). I’m also experimenting with one or two animated features which, if I can get them to work, should add to the operational interest. But fundamentally it’s about letting the locos, wagons and scenics speak for themselves.
