Question about signal box’s Hi all, I have a question regarding the location of signal box’s. Were these always located at stations? Or would there have been junctions or crossings along the line that would have been manned by a small signal box? Obviously with everything being automated today there would be no need I’m talking early steam days with lots of branch lines all over the place
