Happy Christmas all!! 2021 is the year that I got back into rail modelling after a long break, enticed by the twins (aged 7), DCC sound and more free time brought about by early retirement. I have kept my skills up over the years with war gaming dioramas and boards made for others, 1-2-1 scale work for theatres etc and making architectural models for projects but nothing else has the gamut of skills needed for rail modelling - electronics, scale modelling, painting, design, woodwork, computing (if you want) and much much more. Our layout project ( Edenford #edenford, check out our SIG in members layout area ) is proceeding slowly, with the loft conversion delayed a year and a small layout being created for skills practice and fun. We discovered this forum early on, and along with some YouTube videos have found inspiration, guidance and help whenever needed. Particular thanks to @dave2110 who answered a call for help and converted our random ideas to a workable AnyRail design. So thank you all, happy Christmas, merry modelling and here’s a video from when we visited Santa…
