My 12 year old (nearly13) came to me very seriously this morning as follows, ‘Dad, I don’t think you should build me that big bullet train layout, because it’ll take you lots of time and money and I won’t really play with it very much.’ He even went as far as to suggest selling what we have and using the money to do something else. I then asked if there was something else that he’d rather do with me as a father to son thing. He replied that he’s got a big STEM project this year called Mission to Mars: could I perhaps help him build a diorama of a Mars base? #foiledagain #rumbled 🙄
