I am using a Bachman EZ controller which I bought second hand to get my new DCC N gauge layout up and running. When I started all was well - locos programmed easily and correctly and they behaved themselves as they should. Lately though none of the locos fully stops when I wind the Bachmann controller back to zero for each, rather each one puffs along at a very minimum speed which of course is dangerous for them and annoying for me. If I rotate the switch several times, eventually the loco will stop completely. This leads me to believe that the EZ controller is a heap of junk but I am loath to fork out more just now for a different controller. Is it possible to open this gadget and tighten or re-align whatever is making the locos continue to run even though I have wound the controller back to zero. Any suggestions are welcome.
