For today’s #postittheme of #stationdetails on the #realrailways and it’s my home town station of Lytham. It’s obviously once a much grander building with the station hall now a pub and the platforms reduced to one. There’s talk of an extension to the Blackpool tramway which would add the old second line back in, solely for trams. The original station for Lytham was around half a mile away where the original railway had its terminus. However, once the line was extended to Blackpool in 1862, the current station was built and the old, grand terminus building became a goods shed. Something sparks a little idea of a ‘what if’ layout!!! #linesidedetailing #lytham #lythamstannes
