I have a bachmann class 37 and it's not the best runner on dcc (8 pin) at slow speed bit on dc it's super smooth. It's on a hornby 8 pin decoder but my lenz one did work in it weirdly but does in other locos. I saw yesterday bachmann have launched their spares website and you can buy the pcb boards, is it possible to swap it for a 21pin board and then a 21 pin decoder? Would that fix the issue (I was told the 8pin ones don't always run brilliantly) or is there more to it with motor etc. Hope that made sense 😬 Cheers
