Yesterday, I asked for advice on cutting stainless steel PE. Tiny pieces I was separating are 5 thou thick and eventually I tried gentle pressure with the tip of the blade of my Stanley knife. It worked, with the blade sturdy enough that it didn't snap. Two pieces are shown in the photo.
