I have a rake of Bachmann bulk grain wagons - they generally ran well on my layout, but have taken to persistent derailing. All my other Bachmann goods wagons run perfectly well as does the coaching stock, which is now fitted with West Hill Wagon Works Elite Couplings. Some of the 'blues' had the old large tension lock couplings, but most of them had the newer smaller type. A couple of the wagons have plastic wheels. I recently fitted them all with West Hill Wagon Works magnetic couplings, but the problem has become even worse with almost instant derailment the minute the train moves off. The magnetic couplings are fixed and not the more recent pivoting type, which I think could be better. I think I should replace the plastic wheels with metal ones and perhaps clean and lubricate the other wheel sets. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
