#informationwanted. I'm planning a Wartime layout, set in May 1944. Blackout regulations were introduced in 1939 and were not lifted until April 1945. Q1. Does anyone know if the same applied to the Railways with the tarpaulin covers required between loco and tender to block light from the firebox and blinds over the windows on passenger coaches - I'm assuming it did ? Also, station name boards and road direction sign posts were all removed so as 'to confuse enemy troops when the invasion took place'. Q2. Does anyone know when they were restored ? Thanks in advance, Snowy.
