Some older models seem to run hot and the danger is the windings on the motor burning out. If the commutator readings on you meter all read around the same then it is ok. The problem could be loss of magnetism of the motor Magnet. To sort this fault a remagnetiser is required and it is quite a expensive item to splash out for a lone modeler perhaps for one loco. We demonstrate what is involved and how simple it is to perform this task. Perhaps if you have a local club they may have the apparatus and may help you out and there will be a vast difference once remagnetising is performed.
