I’ve been doing a bit of tinkering tonight just popping decoders in a couple of different locos and realised that I had two spare. In my moment of excitement, I realised my Railroad HST (that’s only 2 years old) will accept 8 pin as standard. I’ve plugged it in, gone to test it and, having made sure orange wire is No1, it has a hissy fit!! Lights on, whirring noise and very quick heating issue. Obviously removed from power instantly. I’ve installed loads of chips in the last 12 months so, what am I doing wrong this time? Any guesses?? Cheers all!
