#toptips Caustic soda crystals added to very hot water is what I use to remove paint from metal objects, ie loco bodies, diecast vehicles and even tools. Always add the crystals to the hot water not the other way round. Always wear eye protection. After a few minutes most of the paint will be removed, then give the item a good scrub with an old toothbrush. For stubborn paint, just repeat,
