#toptips from my RC modelling days: Model shops love a sale, a clearance and a bundle package! Shopping cleverly can save a packet and t’interweb (to paraphrase Peter Kay) is great for that. Also many model shops have a room / bin / shelf out the back that can have some interesting stuff on it - and if you ask they will let you rummage.
