Rapido 928009 BR 12 Ton ‘Sole’ ballast wagon. My first ‘foray’ into the world of Rapido model railways was the superb Dynometer car (rule 1 applies!). This was followed by my first wagon purchase, the ZJX Ferry wagon in Satlink livery & very impressed I was with both of these 2 models I was too. A lot of their subsequent wagon releases were of limited interest to me that is until I saw this BR ‘Sole’ wagon. This piece of rolling stock is made to the same exacting standards. It is free rolling with split-spoked wheels & has a minimal livery of Engineers black enhanced by a green triangle with the additional text ‘return to Ashford Kent’. A purchase was duly made! Once weathered, this will make a welcome addition to my fleet. Now I can’t wait for the OAA open wagons….
