Deconstruction of fallen mazak 31s... spending an afternoon cutting off the mazak damaged cab floor parts of these Hornby 31s. These are two of the three known affected models R2421 31110 in Departmental 'Dutch' yellow and grey livery and R2413 31270 in BR blue livery. The third version that I don't own any of is R2421 D5512 in BR green livery. Best solution seems to be to cut the cab floor if not already fallen or cracked off, tidy it up and glue it back into cab space leaving a gap between that and rest of chassis block. Then if possible re-use body shell securing screws otherwise use blobs of strong black-tack to secure bodyshell. The bodyshell if cracked, which most are can be glued back together with suitable plastic solvent. A good article appeared in the June 2021 issue of Hornby Magazine by Tim Shackleton.
