#toptips Cutting mats really work best for cutting. Yes they can be used for glueing and painting but then glue and paint get all over your cutting mat. This will dull your cutting blade quicker, as it has to cut through other substances, It also means that when you are cutting the surface may not be perfectly flat - that can cause issues with cutting accuracy and potentially injury. It can also mean you can't see small bits of work you have cut because of the camouflage nature of a cutting mat with glue and paint all over it! (Also doesn't look good in workbench photos or on camera if you are streaming!) So my top tip is to have a sheet of paper handy that you can put over your mat for glueing and painting. I have a few sheets next to my spray booth that I can quickly grab. This is more of a prompt for me to try and remember to do as well as my #toptip for this week.
