#mylayoutsofar Having now completed the laying of track, adding droppers, point motors and control circuits, I have posted two videos which show the mainline circuit and the branch line of my layout. As you will see, works are still very much in progress. However, I have often been asked to show the entire layout and, hopefully this will give a good idea of the structure here at The Garage Southern Spanish Railway (GSSR). The first clip shows a train leaving platform 1 at Baza. It soon passes through Baza Tunnel and into Arboleas Junction Station. Leaving there, it enters Hillside Tunnel and then through Arboleas Junction. Passing the signal cabin and, opposite the coal yard, it now runs up past the diesel motive power depot before rounding the right curve into the final main line straight. This passes the rear of the steam yard with its coaling plant and TMD. After passing back through Baza Tunnel it arrives at Baza platform 2 and then, enters the automated reverse loop which allows for continued running around the layout. The second clip shows a DMU leaving the bay platform 6 at Arboleas Junction Station and heading out on the branch line to Baza, via Zurgena. During the initial stage of this run, through trains, like those in clip 1, would be routed via the Up Main at Arboleas Junction, so as to allow the branch service access to the elevated section just after the diesel depot. (That’s going to annoy the river counters however I invoke rule #1 in such cases!) Once the train is switched left, off the main line, it climbs towards Zurgena station. Leaving Zurgena, the train will enter the scenic break tunnel and reappear upon arrival at Baza bay platform 3. This year i am hoping to add the majority of scenics to the layout. I will continue to spend time with scratch building projects as well.
