Had to get out for the first time this year, and just so happened a special was out and about. 47712 with D1924 on the rear of the 1Z81 Stoke-on-Trent to Appleby running 21mins later. Signal man had seen me taking pics and strangely the station home was down until it approached and then the driver I think waited to get close before opening up and giving it the berries…….
