Evening folks! Busy day at work, so not done anything on the big layout tonight. However, did get a bit of time to set up my modified Hornby rolling road on the kitchen table #donttelldotty ! She was working!!! Anyway, despite it being Hornby, I like using the Elite controller with the rolling road. I've set up the Program and Track outputs with multi plug tails. Means I can swap inputs to the rolling road over easily. So, got 47 709 out of the display cabinet. This is one of my "project locos", with my double decoder installation. I've got a wiring diagram somewhere, but basically uses a Hornby class 47 TTS decoder for the motor and lights on No.1 end (set to address 4709) and a basic 4 function decoder for the cab and lights on No.2 end (set to address 0947). Lets me control the directional lights at each end. I know more modern multi pin decoders can address this, but this was my "cost effective" way of switching off the rear marker lights on a Hornby loco when hauling rolling stock. Means I can have the loco hauling a rake of coaches with the front running lights on the loco on, but not the rear (a pet hate of mine!). Then, when the loco runs "light" to the TMD, I can switch on the front and rear lights. Anyway, @alec_oldroyd listening to Led Zeppelin IV just now. @justin.noble need to add Battle of Evermore to the RailwayModellers.com Spotify playlist... Oh, and the rest of Led Zeppelin IV!!!
