Evening folks! @Wagons Mike asked how I swap out different controllers (DCC and analogue) between the big layout, #marshallsparcels , my modified Hornby rolling road and my decoder test rig! Has take a bit of thinking/my logic! Basically, I use a combination of 6A pole and plug choc block push fit connectors, bought from fleabay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263730714333 All the controllers are wired to female choc block connectors via 32/02 tails. Same gauge wire as I've used for the power buses around the big layout. Connections to the big layout, #marshallsparcels , rolling road and decoder test rig are made via similar 32/02 tails and male choc block connectors. The big layout currently has 2 power buses, one for the inner mainline, the other for the outer. Each has a separate male choc block connector. If I am running the big layout on analogue, with my trusty old H&M Duette, I have two "tails" from the Duette controller, which are connected to the appropriate inner and outer bus wires. If I am running the big layout in DCC, I have one tail from the DCC controller which feeds via "jumper wires" into a double choc block connector, which then connects to the inner and outer bus connectors. The Duette can also be connected to the rolling road by one or other of the "tails" - take your pic! (OH! A picture is worth a thousand words!!!). Hope it makes sense! All I can say it that it works!!! For me, anyway! π±π€£ππ€£
