Electrics is not my thing and wiring up the layout is the area where I struggle. so far things have gone surprisingly well, but I have now hit an impasse. Having installed a Dapol/Airfix turntable I have managed to power its movement using a simple battery powered system through a set of gears... ....and it works! However, I am struggling with getting the power to the track on the turntable itself. The turntable is situated on a spur off my goods loop and the only track beyond the turntable itself is a short spur with a set of buffer stops, so that does not need power. Someone suggested that the feed wires could come up underneath the turntable and be soldered to the rails, except even this electrical numpty can see that that will not work as the rotation of the turntable will wind the wires together until they stop it rotating! So if anyone has a solution, perhaps with a simple wiring diagram as well that would be super!
