My first impressions of Biffo 37/4 passenger cheese. Biffo 37/4 Wensleydale (Passenger Loco) sound file now installed in the DRS 37 405. The shell needed to be lifted in order to change over the tail light and fan wires to relevant function outputs to match the new project instead of me spending hours trying to do it through CV re-programming. Although the Fan can be manually operated via function button 12, I also decided to have it automatically operated randomly by turning on an option on the decoder using the Lokprogrammer. Everything works fine with little jerking at speed step 1-3 which seems to be a trend with all my Heljan twin motor locos, most likely due to having the twin motor control come from only two terminals instead of three, but I can’t be asked to take everything apart to try out that option. The sound is clear, but dated compared to the ESU HiFi project, this sound project also doesn’t have pronounced turbo whine compared to the Highland version, something I forgot to check before making the order.. Too late now. I hope biffo re-masters all his projects to HiFi has the actual size of the project barely take up half the memory space on the V5XL. To be honest I’m not dribbling over the sound coming out the EM3+small treble like I was hearing the ESU free file, but the control method works great for anyone bored with the manual operating environment the ESU HiFi requires.
