In 2010, shortly after their launch, I bought 4 JNA 'Falcon' wagons from Dapol, in Network Rail livery. The plan was to get them weathered and detailed quickly as the Network Rail yellow was much too, err, yellow. Anyway, I gave them a blast with some brown spray paint (didn't have the proper stuff in them days), and that's how they have stayed ever since. Until today. Some 13 years later, I have just finished the first one. Just 3 more to do. 🙈 So my question is: What is the longest amount of time it has taken you to complete a specific model railway task, what was the task, and why did it take you so long?
