For my Corfe Castle project I use ballast from the German company Koemo. I mixed two colors to get a nice and realistic ballast. It’s for sure not the cheapest solution. The Koemo ballast is made of real rock stone, very filigrane. One of the advantages is, that’s not so static as other material I used earlier. To construct it on my layout I used a mixture of 50% bookbinders glue, 50% water and a few drops of soap.
