There is no doubt that the construction of a model railway requires a number of skill sets. Planning, initially to create the design of your layout. Carpentry to create the baseboards, laying the trackwork is a definite art & then there is the electrics. What I enjoy most is adding the detail as this brings the railway ‘alive’. Attached is an image showing a ‘before’ & ‘after’ image of a part of my layout that I have meaning to enhance for a while so last Saturday I spent an hour or so adding the flock, bluebells, tufts of grass plus the old discarded newspapers & fizzy drink cans. I found this to be quite therapeutic & the results very rewarding. What do you think?
