This afternoon's project has been to try to makeover a little lamp hut. Photo captions. 1 - The original hut. It's ok. The most stand out issue is the roof being much too thick and large. 2 - Tin foil seems the obvious replacement being formed over the old roof in a manner reminiscent of opening a Kit Kat. Smoothing over and then running a nail gently through the grooves. The foil was then 'painted on the reverse with neat pva. 3 - A cereal card roof support and former glued into place and painted with pva 4 - The hut gets a paint in dirty black/brown and roof fitted and cut to size. 5 - Finished! The roof is painted and weathered with powders and on to the layout. #modelmakeover N gauge
