#weekendmodelling making trees was the theme, to finish off the river scene, I thought a couple of N scale willow trees would be nice. Here are a couple of test pieces I made over the weekend. The basis of the trees is wire (0.3mm dia.) which I coated with a modelling gel to disguise or tone down the twisted wire. The smaller branches are 6mm static grass which are stuck to the main branches. Unfortunately my attempts to achieve have not been to successful (for me), so I guess I need try longer static grass (ordered today) which might be easier to hold when placing on the main branches. The technique I am using has been inspired by Boomer Dioramas a Canadian YouTube channel working in HO. To finish them off I will use either, fine flock, leaves or 1mm static grass. The trees are about 30mm high (15') and the figure is a ModelU farmer as a check to see if they are a reasonable height.
