One of the things that can soak up hours of my time is looking through old maps of railways. Whilst I model narrow gauge I often find myself fascinated with the extent of the industrial railways the UK used to have. I was recently looking at Middlesborough - like many places this area has seen a huge change in the last 200 years and the railways were extensive. If you have not come across the National Library of Scotlands Side by Side maps before - it is the place to go! https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=15.226666666666667&lat=54.58428&lon=-1.24619&layers=168&right=BingHyb Please don't blame me if you find yourself spending hours there! #disusedrailways #postit
