A bit late for the#disusedrailways #postit but thought it may be interesting. This is a current photo of Ebberston station building and platform. This was a station on the 'Forge Valley Line' which ran from Pickering to Scarborough and was opened by the North Eastern Railway in 1882.The station was called 'Wilton' in the early days (which is a village 1 mile or so to the west ) and changed to Ebberston around 1903.The last service on the line ran in 1950 when the branch was closed. The current owners have refurbished the inside of the building to how it would have been in the 1930's,relaid a small amount of track next to the platform, and purchased two coaches which can be rented as holiday lets.(One can be seen in the photo ) Most of the station buildings along the original line are intact and are now owned as private dwellings
