TMD Update No. 6. Trackwork - Glue or Nail? For the TMD, I have used the Peco Bullhead code 75 track along with their medium right & left hand points as this will match the track previously used on the main layout. I did try to use the Peco SL114 finescale track joiners. However, as good as they look (with representative fish plates), I found them too small & fiddly so reverted to their standard SL110 rail joiners. The trackwork has been thoroughly tested so now the question is whether to glue or nail….. In the past I have always tacked my track down to hold the P. Way in situ while I ballast, however, this time I have decided to use ‘Copydex’. NB - This does have quite a pungent smell so ensure the work area is well ventilated. I placed some heavy books onto the track work while the adhesive was curing & left for 24hrs. I have to say I am quite impressed with the results & of course there are no nails to remove once the ballasting has been completed. How do you fasten your trackwork?
