Attention, attention…. For all those ‘Men of Kent’ (& ladies of course) looking for something to do today (Sun 6th Oct) why not visit the Folkestone & District model railway exhibition @ the Lees Cliff Hall. The doors open at 10am & there is a wide range of exhibits including some excellent models with a nautical theme that literally took years to produce. On the railway front, I was particularly impressed by ‘Ambleton Vale’ from Ray Taylor & Anna Bass, the superb ‘Wellbridge’ from the Crawley Model Railway Society, ‘Hawkesdown Junction’ in 0 gauge from the hosts & Laurie Calvert’s ‘Cato Inferno’ (for all those interested in Steampunk) amongst many other fine layouts on show. All the popular gauges were represented too. Traders are also prevalent with Invicta Models, Kent Garden Railways, Footplate (Models) plus a few second hand dealers thrown in the mix. Tools suppliers such as Squires were also present as well as manufacturers Bachmann & Rapido. All in all, a great day out! Highly recommended.
