2nd post on hand points, this is the American version. The last post was the British version, the main difference between the to being the British version is spring loaded to switch routes. Which means a loco can run through it if the route is set against it and the points will flick over. The American version is locked both ways and has to be swung by hand to set the route before all movements. The 2nd picture shows the 2 foot pedals, only the one needs to be depressed to released the hand hoop that is then swung over either Left/Right to set the route, once fully over the catch on the hoop will lock into to foot catch.
