My two favourite trains. There’s a lot to be said for detail, and the latest ‘must have’ thingy - but at the end of the day, a train that runs well will give you years and years of happiness, and that’s what these two do. Cross Country Voyager, LED light conversion and 3 x DCC chips and a new motor. Arriva Trains Wales 67 (originally ‘Cairn Gorm’ with TTS sound and an ATW body over it) and all the correct coaches and a DVT, close coupled with Hunt magnetic couplings. Always run perfectly, 100% reliable. May not be the most detailed model trains ever made, but at a scale 100mph can you really tell? 🙂
