This weeks "How To" - How to make a simple name plate for your Railway Room door. I have used 30mm letters (bought by my wife but were too large for OO scale model signs). I have used 4mm MDF, 45mm in height and the length required will depend on the length of the name of your layout. The MDF was sealed with "Sand 'n Seal" (to seal the MDF) before painting with the white paint. The letters were painted with Blackboard paint, but any black paint would do. The letters were evenly spaced horizontally between top and bottom of the MDF by cutting a piece of 1.5mm card 7.5mm deep (calculated by deducting the height of the letters from the height of the MDF - 45mm - 30mm and dividing by two ie 7.5mm top and bottom). The "sign" was trimmed with 6mm x 6mm pine strip painted black to complete. This will be the name of my layout if I ever get to having one π€ππ - Ken.
