SCRATCH-BUILD A BRIDGE - PART FOUR - PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER - Having completed all the necessary pieces for the bridge supports, joined the sides together and cut and painted the track bed, it was time to put it all together. The track bed is 3mm thick (2 x 1.5mm card) and each of the sides joined by two pieces of the pine strips used for the inside detail of the bridge giving it a good solid build. The supporting piers were permanently fitted with the main part of the bridge fitting perfectly between the piers. The four piers/pillars were closed using little circle pieces of ply approximately 26mm in diameter, giving the tops of the piers/pillars a neat finish. All in all, a fairly straightforward and reasonably easy build and one which was a "special" to mark six years of scratch-building models! π
