Second post from SWOONS open day @ken_thomas A couple showing the creativity of railway modellers and what can be done in a small space. Photo 1: WIP Eastern Block Forestry Railway by Giles Perkins. It's his new layout in the same pizza-base format as his fabulous The Little Himalayan Railway which he has exhibited previously. He said he wanted one with an interesting track plan but that would run more independently at exhibitions than the Himalayan layout, giving him more time to talk. The idea with the scenics is to not be able to see through to all sides at once. Photo 2: Tippington (Toby Hollins-Jones). HOf scale in a 7 1/4" gauge vee skip. Battery operated. Rolling mainly scratch built. The vee skip the loco is pulling is the vee skip the layout is displayed in. Photos 3-5: A little larger... Return to the 70's, Tim Tincknell. His take on the 1970s narrow gauge model railway, with new Mini trains loco and stock similar to the old Egger range.
