#postit #D is for Doorway. The Weir pub is Chandwell’s favourite boozer and home of live music every night. Built in 1888, the pub has offered rest and refreshment to workers in the industrial part of Chandwell ever since. The Art Nouveau glass name sign above the door was added in 1904 and remarkably has never been smashed. The Weir has won the Chandwell Advertiser “Best Pies in Chandwell” award for the last four years. Landlady Wendy is hoping that 1993’s voting goes the same way, enabling her to take the prize for a fifth time.
