Following on from @darrellrogan221 posts about weathering his Cavalex CDA wagons, I came across my Bachmann Polybulk wagons the other day, while checking all the couplings. Here are some photos of them after detailing and weathering. (20/03/2025) Detailing involved cutting down the height of the lamp brackets at each side on the ends, adding a lamp, brake pipes and screw couplings at one end of each outer wagon in the rake. Weathering involved washing the underframe and bogies with frame dirt, a few spots of rust plus some black wash. The bodies were then covered in various degrees of China clay spillage. I use enamel paints and for this I used Phoenix ARC grey. The first picture depicts a newly painted wagon, hence very little dirt wash, but lots of clay! The second photo shows a lightly, for these, covered body highlighting the angled streaking which occurred at the ends. This was taken from photos. The last photo shows a typical state that these wagons were in. Couplings are now Hunt magnets within the rake and Kadees at each of the rake, meaning I have had to cut the screw link coupling off. But this is the way I have decided to go for my home layout, as you all know.
