#closecoupling (15/04/2025) Following on from my last post regarding the old Hornby MGR wagons, which was all that was available at the time. I had a couple of Hunt pivoting couplings, so I thought I would try them out on these. I had to cut the plastic coupling off further back to accommodate the Hunt coupling where I wanted it, but once the position was worked out, I coupled them together, laid them out on both wagons, which were upside down in a cradle and superglued them on. It was a bit tricky and I had to hold them steady while the glue bit, but I did it to make sure the magnetic surfaces matched correctly, as these couplings were seconds that I had been given. You can see the link in the photo. The production ones will fit better than this. Once again, the height is the same, so they match when on the track. On testing I was pleased with how they worked, so this might be a cheaper alternative to using Kadees throughout the rake. I will need another 21 pairs!
