Modeller’s Inspiration No. 155. Network Rail Long welded rail train. These wagons are used to transport Long welded rail. Originally these were 60’ container flats before being converted. Network Rail’s National Logistics Unit (NLU) operates these JZA wagons. The JZA-A wagon is fitted with clamping banks to hold rails during transit. The JZA-B has roller bank modules to support and carry rails in stacks. The JZA-D is the unloader wagon being equipped with 2 cranes. No commercially produced product is available for modeller’s but these would make for an interesting project…
