Let’s get a little conversation going this Thursday evening… what was the first layout you built? How old were you/when did you build it? And did you give it a name? Mine was built mostly by me when I was twelve on some scrap sundeala based noticeboards that my dad acquired from work. It was built with the board directly in the floor Dad laid in the loft so I couldn’t do much with point motors etc. So the only motorised points were some Lima ones which came surface mount point motors built in. Dad helped me lay the track and add ballast, then I built a variety of Superquick kits and Airfix buildings and accessories to create a bit of a town and a very basic farm.
